STATEMENT FROM BOWLS ENGLAND
THE UK GOVERNMENT’S COVID-19 RECOVERY STRATEGY

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on Sunday 10th May and subsequent publication of the UK Government’s COVID-19 Recovery Strategy yesterday, Bowls England is seeking clarification from Government in order to publish the best operational guidance for our clubs and members ahead of any return to play.
We will communicate guidance as soon as it is practicable. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.
NEW COMPETITION EXTENDED
Paul Eales is very pleased with the response to the competition and his company Marathon Sports will sponsor the prizes. Prizes would be awarded at the end of each month in the form of M&S Vouchers. The results for each weekly competition will go towards the overall standings for the month and prizes will be as follows:
1st £25 2nd £15 3rd £10
Points for the 1st competition – the London Marathon poser will be:
1st place 5 points 2nd place 4 points 3rd place 3 points Worth a mention 2 points Entering 1 point
As a result of this very generous offer the Marathon Competition will remain open until Saturday evening should any body wish to enter again or would like to enter.

SAD NEWS
It is with regret that we have to inform you that Monty Brigden passed away peacefully this morning. There is some comfort in the fact that he was at home with his family.
Monty had a long association with Redhill Bowling Club as a Director, Men’s Captain and Club President. He will be greatly missed.
We have also recently learned that Gordon Loader, an ex-Battlebridge BC player; social member and short mat player at Redhill has died suddenly at his home.
Our condolences go to both families.
