CORONAVIRUS – STATEMENT TO RBC MEMBERS – SUBSCRIPTIONS

30/04/2020

In their statement of 31st March, Bowls England advised clubs of the Government’s COVID-19 Support Scheme for Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Businesses that pay business rates. The Directors are pleased to inform our members that we have been deemed eligible. Reigate & Banstead Borough Council who administer the scheme have analysed our application and given us a £10,000 grant. We are aware that other local clubs have received a similar award. This grant will offset our projected loss and enable us to continue to maintain the club to the necessary standard and gives us the confidence to move forward with some improvements.

In our previous statement we acknowledged the many members who have made voluntary subscription payments this season to offset our loss of revenue. However, in view of this grant, we wish to offer these members the option to either:

  • use their payments to offset subscription fees in 2021
  • or receive a full refund

The 2021 subscription amount will be reduced by the amount paid in 2020 if members select this option.  New members who qualified for a 50% reduction in 2020 will still be entitled to this discount next season.

Please e-mail to John Davison (jrdavison@ntlworld.com) to let him know your decision.
