CORONAVIRUS – FURTHER STATEMENT TO RBC MEMBERS

24/04/2020

The Directors of Redhill Bowling Club, in conjunction with the Club Captains and Green Team, yesterday reviewed the current situation taking account of the government’s decision of 16th April 2020 to extend the lock down.

As a result, the green and clubhouse must continue to be closed until further notice, and members are requested not to visit the club until they are advised otherwise.

The Green Team under Ken Jupp’s management is carrying out essential maintenance on the green and surrounds to enable the club to reopen at short notice should play become possible. The work is organised throughout the week so that no more than two volunteers are working on any day which enables social distancing to be readily achieved. The work is progressing well and the green is in very good condition. The Directors and Club Captains, on behalf of all the members, have asked Ken to pass on our thanks to the team for keeping the green in good shape until bowls can restart.

In our previous statement we sought some subscription payment from members to help ensure the club’s viability. We are extremely grateful to the many members who have made voluntary payments totalling £3,100 many paying more than the suggested 50% of their subscription fee.

We again hope that our next update will be more positive, and we can look forward to our members playing on our excellent green in the latter part of the season.

Any Green Team queries please to Ken Jupp, other queries please to John Davison or by e-mail to enquiries@redhillbowlingclub.co.uk
