UPDATE FOR MEMBERS

20/05/2020

WEEKLY COMPETITION

We have had 16 entries so far in the Celebrities Quiz from 12 members. There is still time to enter or try and improve your score as the quiz will remain open until midnight Friday 22nd.

Steve Whiting needs more photos of members in their youth, or hard to recognise, for a future quiz. Email your image to s.whiting40@ntlworld.com

RBC RE-OPENING

The RBC Emergency Team is working on club specific COVID-19 playing guidelines to supplement those issued by Bowls England last Thursday (14th May). These are well advanced and will be made available to members when they are finalised and in time for our target reopening date of Monday 1st June.

GREEN STEWARD APPEAL

Thank you to those who have already volunteered to act as Green Stewards. We need a few more volunteers to fill some weekday sessions. At present we have no-one for Thursday evenings and only one person for some other sessions including Friday afternoons . Overall, the position is encouraging for the planned re-opening date. Brian Sabey is managing the rota so if you can volunteer please contact Brian asap by phone or email to bsabey57@gmail.com.

RINK BOOKING SYSTEM

BOWLS ENGLAND guidelines require us to have a rink booking system. An online system has been set up on the club website. To view the existing bookings, go to Booked Rinks on the main menu. We would like members to try out the system by booking a rink between now and 31st May. Go to Book a Rink on the main menu. Follow the instructions carefully! You can use a smartphone, tablet or pc. Be aware that the pages can be slow to load and that the current weekly view on Booked Rinks has the dates in numerical American format (Month/Day). Members should use dates up until end May for test purposes. If you get into difficulty with bookings or have feedback on the system (including positive) then please let Steve Whiting know.
