COVID-19 UPDATE
The Emergency Team met via Zoom last evening. It was decided to arrange a DRAWN TRIPLES COMPETITION to commence in August with a final on the weekend of 5th/6th September (our original club finals dates). If you are interested in participating please advise Paul Eales by e-mail to paul.eales@hotmail.co.uk by Saturday 8th August. Format of the competition will depend upon the number entering.
It was also agreed to allow the use of SCOREBOARDS for club competitions from tomorrow (Friday 31st July). Competitors should use the anti-bacterial wipes which are available for the contact surfaces. The player in singles or a nominee from the team not keeping the scorecard is responsible for the scoreboard.
SPECTATORS ALLOWED
Following some enquiries we can confirm that spectators are welcome when we are open for roll ups and the singles and pairs competitions. Social distancing must be observed. The clubhouse toilets are available.
Before visiting please check the club website Members Area and view the Calendar to check if there is bowls being played.
CLUB PHONE FAULT
Our clubhouse phone is out of action. A line check has detected a fault and this is being followed up.
In the meantime if urgent please contact the following for:
Green Team – Ken Jupp
Clubhouse Maintenance – Roger Gatland
Rink Booking – Steve Whiting
General – John Davison
or send a Facebook Message to Redhill Bowling Club or email to enquiries@redhillbowlingclub.co.uk
CLUBHOUSE MAINTENANCE MANAGER
Roger Gatland has kindly agreed to this title. It formalises Roger’s proactive role in identifying issues and solutions. If you are aware of any clubhouse items that need attention, then please let Roger know. Roger will aim to get these carried out using our own members’ skills where possible, but he may on occasion need to call in outside companies.
If members have skills or knowledge to help in a practical way around the clubhouse and are willing to help if a situation arises then please let Roger know.
For the green and surrounds the contact is still Ken Jupp.
COMPETITIONS REMINDER
It is not to late to put in an entry for the Pairs Competition and advise Paul Eales of interest in the Singles Competition. The deadline was today but Paul will accept entries during the weekend. The previous announcement was:
A round robin scratch pairs competition open to any combination of ladies and men is envisaged following the format of the 3 wood Wednesday Pairs. Matches would be played weekly using the under-utilised 4.00pm or 6.00pm slots with rinks reserved via the current booking system. Interested members should advise their pairing to Paul Eales by email (paul.eales@hotmail.co.uk) no later than Friday 26th June. Final arrangements will be dependent on the numbers entering. Target start date is w/c 1st July.
Members interested in participating in a singles competition instead of or as well as the pairs competition should also advise Paul Eales of this by 26th June.
