CV-19 GUIDANCE UPDATE
Following the Bowls England guidance update of 2nd June, the club specific guidance is amended as follows with effect from Monday 22nd June:
Players on a rink:
The maximum number of players on a single rink will be four and the maximum number of players excluding Green Steward/s and spectators will be twelve on the club site. Social distancing in line with Government guidelines must be observed.
Spectators:
Spectators are now allowed. However, their attendance must be in line with Government guidelines on social distancing. Our extensive green surrounds permit us to specify now a maximum attendance of twenty people on the green and surrounds at any one time.
Competitions:
Internal pairs or singles competitions are now permitted.
Social Distancing:
All references to two metre separation in the club guidelines will be deemed modified to align with updated Government guidelines.
PROVISIONAL COMPETITION ARRANGEMENTS:
Initially members will be canvassed on participating in a pairs competition with the possibility of a singles competition to follow at a later date.
A round robin scratch pairs competition open to any combination of ladies and men is envisaged following the format of the 3 wood Wednesday Pairs. Matches would be played weekly using the under-utilised 4.00pm or 6.00pm slots with rinks reserved via the current booking system. Interested members should advise their pairing to Paul Eales by email (paul.eales@hotmail.co.uk) no later than Friday 26th June. Final arrangements will be dependent on the numbers entering. Target start date is w/c 1st July.
Members interested in participating in a singles competition instead of or as well as the pairs competition should also advise Paul Eales of this by 26th June.
With the likely increase in attendance the Green Stewards will be asked to open the electric fence at both the central steps and the west ramp to facilitate social distancing for players entering and leaving the green.
