HELP NEEDED
Today the Green Team continued to hollow tine the green. 4 tons of lawn sand were delivered and we need help spreading this next Tuesday 9th 11th. Work will start about 9.15 for 3-4 hours. There are a number of other task for those unable to do the heavier ones. Please come and help. Refreshments provided!
MESSAGE FROM THE GREEN TEAM
Brian Sabey wrote on Facebook last week:
“Hi everyone, on Tuesday, we are expecting 4 ton of sand to arrive and we aim to hollow tyne the green, the following week we will be putting the sand on the green, any help will be greatly appreciated, on both occasions. Thanks, The green team.”
Please try and come along tomorrow morning and on Tuesday 9th October to help with the tasks involved. The Green Team will be starting work about 9.15 am for about 3-4 hours. If you can help for an hour or more that would be appreciated.
SUNDAY 23RD SEPT
Thank you to all who have signed up for Captains’ Day – we have over 50 with 33 playing. Despite the poor weather forecast please come. Food has been bought for our meal and alternative entertainment will be arranged if necessary.
Dress code is GREYS – not as fixture card.

TUESDAY TRIPLES RESULT & DRIVE NEXT WEEK
Well done to all the teams who competed through the season and to Essex who retained the title. Next Tuesday afternoon (18th) Barry Martyn has kindly offered to organise a drive for anyone who would like to bowl. Please sign up at the clubhouse or contact Barry if you are interested.
FINALS RESULTS
Well done to all the finalists for some excellent bowls on Finals Weekend. Many thanks go to the Competition Secretaries – Lyn Davison and Sam Alan for all the prior organisation and on the day; to the umpires and markers; to the Green Team for keeping the green in such good condition and for sweeping both mornings; and to the many spectators (peaking at 35 on Sunday) who helped create a super athmosphere during the matches.
FRIDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER – BOWLS ‘TIL TWILIGHT
The regular Friday Drive finished tonight (7th). All are welcome to join in some bowls followed by light refreshments next Friday when the drive results will be announced and prizes distributed. Sign up at the clubhouse.
