OPENING DRIVE TOMORROW – 2.30 PM START

Weather forecast is good and the green is playing well.
Dress code is Greys.
Teams have been drawn up but we will try and fit in anyone else who wants to play. Or just come along and watch and enjoy a cup of tea and a cake for £1.

OUTDOOR SEASON STARTS TODAY

Green looks great this morning for this afternoon’s first session of the season. Well done the Green Team.

Volunteer Green Stewards are on duty afternoons (from 2.30) and evenings (from 6.00) on weekdays and will allocate a rink to all needing one. Please say hello to our new members when you see them and introduce yourselves.

CATERING ROTA 2019

Many thanks to Marion and Roger for organising this year’s rota and to those members who have offered o do additional turns.

The catering list is shown below and is displayed on the kitchen hatch with a blank sheet. If any members cannot do the allotted date then please find a swap and write it on the blank sheet. This will help the Captains when selecting the teams.

SHORT MAT LEAGUE PLAY OFF

Congratulations to the Lions who just overcame the Tigers to win the play off yesterday. 3rd place were the Leopards with the Pumas propping up the league.
30 members enjoyed some good bowling followed by a sit down two course meal.
Well done to Pam & Steve Whiting, Roger & Marion Gatland for running the league during the winter season.

HELP THE GREEN TEAM – FRIDAY 12th APRIL

The Green Team are hoping as many members as possible will help with final preparations next Friday – prior to the outdoor season starting on Monday next week.
There are plenty of jobs to be done not all heavy ones – so please come and help from 9.30 a.m. onwards.

GREEN STEWARDS FOR SUMMER SEASON

Well done to Ann Pannell for the organisation and many thanks to all the listed members for agreeing to act as a Green Steward.  This will enable the club to be open for both  afternoon and evening sessions each weekday.

SHORT MAT DRIVE RESULTS

Well done Bert Stevens for winning this year’s Short Mat Saturday Drive played over 19 weeks with an amazing shot difference of 60. Allan Penton held on to 2nd place by coming back to win his match this afternoon by 5 shots giving him a final score of 28. Only 5 shots separated 2nd and 5th place – 3rd Brenda Avery (26) 4th Lyn Davison (24.5) & 5th Delia Terry (23).
Thanks go to the organising team of John & Lyn Davison with lots of help from Marion & Roger Gatland.

SUBSCRIPTION 2019

Many members will be paying their subscriptions on Thursday evening.
Members renewing their subscription who introduced a new playing member who joined last year and is rejoining at the full playing rate are entitled to a 50% reduction to their subscription.

COLIN HIBBS INDOOR LEAGUE

RBC did well in this year’s Colin Hibbs League finishing one point behind the winners Caterham BC and level on points with Purley Bury.

RBC are also doing well in the Outdoor Clubs League on Thursday afternoons with the final week on 28th March. We have held top spot on a number of occasions during the season and are vying for top place finish on Thursday.

Current Hours

There are three bowls sessions every weekday – starting at 2.00pm, 4.00pm and  6.00pm. On Wednesday and Thursday there are sessions starting at 11.00 am. Members can pre-book a rink online.

We are open Saturday & Sunday for Club Matches and Events.
