HELP TOMORROW PLEASE
The Green Team will be starting to spread the 3 tonnes of lawn sand tomorrow (Friday) morning. This was delivered on Tuesday morning when rain prevented much work being done on the green.
While the Green Team are sand spreading there are plenty of other jobs to be done as part of putting the green to bed e.g. lifting the ditch mats. Help with these other jobs would be appreciated – so come along from 9.15 am.
The morning should start dry but if it does rain then probably not a lot of point helpers coming on this occasion.
CAPTAINS’ DAY
The rain held off for most of the afternoon so our members were able to first play a Spider in aid of Visually Impaired Bowlers which was won by Nicola Baldwin. This was followed by 16 ends of the Men’s Captain v Ladies’ Captain Team Match. Sam’s team beat Lyn’s team by a 7 shot margin to win the Frank Hall Trophy.
44 members and family then enjoyed a tasty 2 course meal prepared by Belinda Young and David Rigg.
A most enjoyable final event of the summer season and many thanks to all who helped make the afternoon a success.
CAPTAINS’ DAY
The current Met Office forecast suggests that this morning’s rain will ease off with a 10% chance of rain from 2.00 pm onwards.
We aim to play bowls if conditions allow so if you have signed up please do come to play or watch and then join in the meal prepared by Dave and Belinda. If bowls is not possible there will be alternative activity in the clubhouse.

The full fixture list can be viewed in the Short Mat section of the RBC website.
The league teams will be finalised at Captains Day on Sunday. If you haven’t signed up and want to play on a Tuesday/Wednesday afternoon through the closed season then contact Steve Whiting ASAP. You can also ask to be a reserve when teams are short of a player.
