NO PLAY TODAY

Due to the persistent heavy rain and the grass not being cut last Friday (also due to rain) the Green Team have closed the green for today.

Re-opening will require dry conditions tomorrow to allow grass cutting.

FRIDAY DRIVE – 7TH JUNE

No drive tonight due to weather conditions.

The Green Team were unable to cut the grass this morning and with further rain forecast this evening Roy has cancelled this evening’s drive.

BOWLS & BBQ – SATURDAY 22ND JUNE

Our next Social Event will be bowls organised by Barry Martyn followed by a BBQ courtesy of David and Belinda. Theme will be Chicken Run especially imported from Spain. Sign up in the clubhouse or call there to have your name added. Menu choice is Steak/Chicken or Veggie.

 

MEN’S CLUB COMPETITIONS

The Championship, 100 Up & 2 Wood singles first round matches have to be completed by Sunday 16th June. There are still 20 matches unplayed! If you are the Challenger (red name on clubhouse draw listing) and the match is not arranged you will forfeit it.

PRESIDENT’S DAY – 3RD JUNE

Monty’s President’s Day was held in lovely weather and eight teams fought it out for the President’s Cup. Runners up were Ames, Chris & Jan on +8 and the winners were Gail, Lyn & Roger on +13, pictured here receiving the cup from the Club President. A packed club house enjoyed an excellent 2 course meal prepared by Belinda and David with wine provided by Monty. Club members provided a wide range of raffle prizes and the raffle raised obver £150 for our Defibrillator Fund. A most enjoyable afternoon and thanks go to the organisers, caterers and all those who helped on other aspects.

Our third and final Open Day is on Sunday.
Members are welcome to come along for a roll up and it would great if they could bring a friend to try out the sport. Coaching will be available.

DEFIBRILLATOR FUND UPDATE

13/05/2019

We have made an excellent start to our fundraising for a Defibrillator with £354 received to date excluding money in the collection tins.

We raised £220 at the Charity Day and we have received many donations directly or via Facebook plus funds generated by the Century Club. So many thanks to all who have contributed so generously.

Current Hours

There are three bowls sessions every weekday – starting at 2.00pm, 4.00pm and  6.00pm. On Wednesday and Thursday there are sessions starting at 11.00 am. Members can pre-book a rink online.

We are open Saturday & Sunday for Club Matches and Events.
