CARRINGTON SCHOOL VISITS TO RBC

13/07/2023

Yesterday saw the last visit by Carrington School students to RBC as part of their curriculum time Excellence Programme. Up to 12 students have visited weekly with Deputy Head Mirella Basso on Wednesday afternoons during the Summer Term. After a quick introduction on Rink 7 in their first visit all the students have then taken part each week in a proper bowls game on our green of either triples, pairs or singles. It could get very competitive!

Each student was presented with a Certificate yesterday along the lines of that shown below.

Thanks must go to John Davison, Les Felgate, Anthony Guiness and Gerry Hardie for giving up their time to run these sessions.

BORDER LEAGUE TABLE

10/07/2023
RBC are currently bottom of Division 1 and need a big win next Thursday evening to move above our opponents Horsham. Updated table added 1300hrs.
So an important week ahead with our Border League Cup match against Lindfield on Sunday at 10am. One rink home and away.

TOMORROW (SUNDAY 25th) AT REDHILL BOWLING CLUB

24/06/2023

Starting at 10am we see 6 teams compete in the first round of the Drawn Triples Club Competition. Many thanks to all the members who have stepped in to play for those who are unavailable. This year we have had to move the Drawn Triples to Sunday mornings due to East Surrey League commitments.

Spectators are very welcome tomorrow morning. A hot day is forecast. There are choc ices in the kitchen freezer for sale at 50p each. The bar will be open at the close of play – sometime after 1230 pm. Earlier if there is a bar trained spectator willing to serve drinks.

A result of the morning activities is that we had too few members signed up for the afternoon friendly v Newdigate. So this fixture has been cancelled.

SOCIAL BOWLS & BUFFET – SATURDAY 22nd JULY

We always need helpers for such an event – please see the listing on the notice and let Lyn Davison if you can help or add your name in the Clubhouse. Raffle prize donations are very welcome and can be left in the box in the Clubhouse or brought on the day.
