DRAWN TRIPLES – SATURDAY 18th JULY

Six well balanced triples teams battled it out over a Round Robin in morning and afternoon sessions.

There were 17 spectators and helpers watching during the day.

Gill Jarrett kindly organised lunchtime catering and ice creams and most if not all those present stayed for lunch and kept the bar ticking over!

Winning team were Anne Currie, Ken Ede and Bryan Gaunt. See sidebar for image of the finalists.

Thank you for entering this year’s competition.
Just to confirm:-
  • Starting at 10.30 am there will be 3 sessions of a Round Robin each of 5 ends
  • During the lunch break filled rolls, sausage rolls and ice creams will be available at modest prices (many thanks to Gill Jarrett for volunteering to do this)
  • At approx. 2.30 pm there will be 2 further rounds of the Round Robin
  • After a refreshment break the 2 top teams on points will contest a final of 6 ends
Dress code is greys.
The usual competition entry fee of £1.50 per person will be collected on arrival (from those who haven’t already paid).
Teams will be drawn on Friday evening.
Please be at the Club in good time for the start!

DRAWN TRIPLES CLUB COMPETITION

Thank you to those who have already signed up. We have enough for the competition to run but it would be great to have some more members joining in.
If you would like to add your name, then please sign up in the clubhouse or on the Club Website/Rink Diary/Teams by close of play Wednesday 15th July so that we can draw the teams on Friday evening. If you have signed up and can no longer play let me know asap.
If the hot weather continues the number of ends will be limited with hydration breaks built in. If you have any questions about the competition, then please get in touch with me or Darren.

NEW CLUB SPONSOR

We are delighted to announce that the Club has a new Sponsor – The Hearing Care Partnership (THCP). Many of you will have already noticed the new banner on the Club terrace.

FRIDAY EVENING DRIVE – STARTS THIS FRIDAY

As announced at the Opening Drive the Aussie Pairs has been replaced with a Friday Drive open to all playing members. (entry fee for the Aussie Pairs will be refunded on request to John D).

The first Drive is this Friday (1st May) and will run every week through the season.

Ben and Lyn are organising the first week. If you can volunteer to help organise future weeks, then please let them know.

Please be at the Club by 6pm for a 6.15pm start. Teams will be drawn and will decide their own playing order. Format (Pairs, Triples or Rinks) will depend on the number playing.

Dress code is mufti.

No trial ends – 1 shot on the first end. Killed end – 1 shot to the opposing team.

No ends will start after 8pm.

Score cards to be completed please. Over the season your weekly scores will be totalled, and the top average player will be presented with a trophy.

Do come and enjoy some friendly competitive bowling.
