FRIDAY DRIVE & EVENING PAIRS LEAGUE
TEXT OF AN E-MAIL SENT TO PLAYING MEMBERS TODAY
Dear Playing Member
This season we are without an organiser for our Friday Evening Fun Drive. Unless we can find a volunteer to organise this on a regular basis (not necessarily every week) then the Drive cannot happen.
The Club very much wants Friday evenings to be a time when members can meet up to play bowls or just socialise. This could be a roll-up, an informal challenge game or a club competition.
This season we have more club fixtures on Wednesdays – significantly reducing the number of times when the Pairs League can take place on that day of the week. The League Team Leaders met this afternoon and it was decided to run the league on 2 evenings – Wednesdays as before and on those Fridays when there is a Wednesday club fixture that week. Of the 18 rounds of the league these will be split evenly between the Wednesdays and Fridays.
If you are one of the 16 members already signed up for the Wednesday Pairs League then we hope you will be able to continue under the new Evening Pairs League arrangements. Team members can opt to play on either or both days. Please let us know by replying to this e-mail or just contact Marion Gatland who is the League Organiser. If you haven’t already joined the league and would like to, then please let us know before Tuesday 3rd May when the team draw will take place.
The new Evening League arrangements do not preclude a Friday Drive taking place in parallel if we can identify an organiser. Is anyone willing?
Regards
John Davison
