Roger Gatland

Paul was competing for Windsor, Slough, Elton and Hounslow club, which was founded in the 1880s.
In the 1981 Marathon age group v65 finished in 9th place in a time of 2hrs 15 mins 55sec.
He represented England and Great Britain 38 Times.
Notable achievements were
on the 2nd May 1982, he competed in 25k event in Berlin,Germany finishing 5th in a time of 1hr 16mins 4sec.
On 14th March 1982 he competed in a short marathon in Rome,Italy, finishing in 6th place in a time of 2hrs 13 mins 43sec.
Paul’s marathon PB still features in the all age group UK marathon rankings at position 172 after 39 years.
In the website photo he is the little short person on the far right No. 2 following on from this photo his number was changed to 118 when he competed for Directory Enquiries!!!! ?????

Current Hours

There are three bowls sessions every weekday – starting at 2.00pm, 4.00pm and  6.00pm. On Wednesday and Thursday there are sessions starting at 11.00 am. Members can pre-book a rink online.

We are open Saturday & Sunday for Club Matches and Events.
