Competition Rules 2024

GENERAL

Finals Weekend will be Sat. 7th and Sun. 8th September 2024. Members entering competitions (with the exception of the Drawn Triples) will be expected to play on either day if they have successfully completed earlier rounds.

ARRANGING A MATCH

The first named player (pair) is the challenger(marked in red) who is responsible for arranging the match and arranging a marker in singles matches. A minimum of 2 dates must be offered to the opponents at the beginning of each round. The agreed date and session must be entered in the Club’s Rink Booking online system.

Failure to offer a choice of dates will result in the fixture being awarded by default to the opponents.

Competitors must read and adhere to the rules of individual competitions.

Rinks will be drawn by the Green Steward from those deemed playable by the Green Team.

The Green Steward will decide on whether the green is playable in the event of bad weather.

If the green is deemed unplayable the match must be re-arranged. The Competition Secretary will decide whether the round deadline will be extended.

A maximum of 2 trial ends may be played.

A completed score card must be signed by both players (both skips in pairs/triples matches) and placed in the appropriate box in the changing rooms.

Competition results will be entered on the sheets by the Competition Secretary.

ROUND COMPLETION

Members should only enter competitions if they will be able to complete rounds by the allotted dates. Holiday commitments will not be regarded as sufficient reason for extending round deadlines. The completion date for each round will NOT be extended except by prior permission of the Competition Secretary.

SUBSTITUTIONS

All substitutions must be approved in advance by the Competition Secretary. Substitutes are allowed in all pairs and triples competitions up to and including the final. The substitute must not have played in previous rounds of the same competition. In the Handicap Pairs the substitute must not play off a higher handicap than the original player.

MARKERS

Members entering singles competitions must be willing to act as a marker
