CAPTAINS’ DAY 25thSEPTEMBER

Captains Lyn & Sam welcomed 40 players and spectators to our final event of the season. The Frank Hall Trophy was won by the triple of Alan Beaver, Marion Gatland and Liam Hall by an impressive +12 shots.
After the bowls we enjoyed a tasty 2 course hot meal prepared by David Rigg and Belinda Young. Sam thanked all who had made the day a success. He also thanked Lyn Davison, who was standing down as Ladies’ Captain after 6 years, for all the help she had given him in carrying out his role.
TUESDAY TRIPLES LEAGUE RESULT
Well done to Alan Beaver’s Kent Team in beating the previous champions Essex in the final week to hold on to top spot and become the 2021 Champions. It wasn’t plain sailing as Essex took a 4 shot lead on End 12 with two consecutive 5 shot ends. Kent quickly recovered with 4 shots on …

CAPTAINS’ DAY & FRANK HALL CUP – SAT 25th SEPTEMBER
The sign up notice for our final bowls event of the summer season is on the noticeboard in the Clubhouse.Names of those who have already signed up online have been added. This will be monitored over the next two weeks and names added to the master list in the Clubhouse.

Helpers are needed for the tasks listed on the notice except catering where David & Belinda have kindly agreed to prepare a two course meal. Helpers can also sign up by contacting Lyn Davison.

NEWS UPDATE
CLUB FINALS WEEKEND – 11TH/12TH SEPTEMBER
There will be morning, afternoon and evening sessions on both days. Start times are 9.30am, 2pm and 5.30pm. Playing schedules are on display in the Clubhouse and on the Club Website Latest News (see previous item).
Spectators are welcome. Belinda has kindly agreed to provide lunchtime sandwiches (£2) on both days. Order at the servery in advance please. Tea and coffee will also be available. Sausage rolls (50p) will be served for the evening session. The bar will be open subject to the availability of bar trained volunteers.
The Men’s 100 UP will be played on Saturday 18th September starting at 2.30 pm.
FRIDAY DRIVE
The final round of the evening Friday Drive will be on 17th September.
