CAPTAINS’ DAY 2022

25/09/2022
Yesterday’s event benefitted for a sunny afternoon (mostly) on a well prepared green. Thank you to the Green Team for Friday’s cut in the wet weather.
After a spider won by Lyn Davison, 6 rinks competed for the Frank Hall Trophy. The winning team comprised Ames Brisley, Doreen Taylor, John Kujawski & Rob Hobart – see image of them with Captain Sam Cates.
Bowls was followed by a tasty 2 course meal for 40 members and guests prepared by David Rigg & Belinda Young. After speeches a fantastic array of raffle prizes were distributed by Allan Penton & Ros Penton with proceeds for this and the spider going to our 2022 charity – Loveworks.
Well done and thanks must go to the Captains’ Team of Sam Cates (Men’s Captain), Marion Gatland (Ladies’ Captain) and the Vice-Captains Lyn Davison, Daniel Mullen & Brian Sabey for all their hard work on the day and throughout the season. Also thanks to Dave & Belinda for the meal and other members who also helped on the day.
