CAPTAINS’ CHARITY DAY 2023

24/09/2023
We were blessed with unexpected sunshine yesterday afternoon when 6 Mixed Triples named after the emergency services competed for the Frank Hall Trophy commemorating this previous stalwart of the Club. The Police Team of Ann Pannell, Jim Mason and Gerry Hardie came out on top with +7 shots followed by the Ambulance Team of Jan Janet Brunt, John Seldon and Allan Penton with +3. John Davison won the Spider prize.
After bowls the players and the many spectators enjoyed an extensive buffet. Beryl from our 2023 charity Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance then gave a very informative talk on how KSS operate and their need for donations to fund these. Captain Sam Cates thanked all those who had helped today and during the season in supporting our involvement in our many leagues. After 6 amazing years in the captaincy role Sam is now handing over to a new Men’s Captain and Vice-Captains. Many thanks Sam for all your endeavours over these years.
The afternoon concluded with a raffle for a super range of prizes donated by our members. All the profit from the raffle, spider and the catering will be donated to KSS Air Ambulance. We will announce the total in the next few days.
