Temperatures in the shade tomorrow afternoon are forecast to be nearly 30 degrees and obviously warmer on the green with no cloud cover.

One option is for skips on the day to agree to play fewer ends – say 10. A minimum of 8 is required for the match to count. Each match can play a different number of ends. I favour this approach. Please take on plenty of water.

Alternatively if team leaders agree with their oppostion to not play and halve the points this must be done in time to let their players know. Please also advise me if this is done. The schedule is:

Sussex (Allan Penton) v Hampshire (Roger Gatland)

Kent (Paul Eales) v Essex (John Davison)
