A BUSY BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND AHEAD
On Saturday afternoon we play our final East Surrey League match at home against Bletchingley BC in the “A25 Derby”. Our first full season in the ESL has not been easy but we believe we have given all our opponents a good game but have often suffered on the last few ends!
On Sunday afternoon RBC travel to Old Coulsdon for a re-arranged North Downs League match. Again, not an easy season but there have been some notable wins including against one of the top clubs -Banstead Neville BC – last weekend.
We wish our teams good luck for these matches and thank our members for signing up for the NDL & ESL matches throughout the season.
On August Bank Holiday Monday (28th) RBC host the Redhill & District Pairs Tournament Finals. Sponsored by the Marathon Sports Foundation there are 2 RBC teams going forward to the Semi-Finals in the Plate Competition and playing one another! So we definitely have one RBC team in the afternoon Finals.
In the Men’s Pairs Competition, one quarter final match will be played on the morning of Sunday 27th August at RBC with our members in both teams.
So, there is plenty of RBC interest in what will be a busy day at the Club. We have had an excellent response from members to help on the day so if you are not playing or helping do come along and support. Thanks to those members who have already donated raffle prizes – more on the day please!
There will be refreshments available starting with bacon rolls(!) from 10am before the six Semi-finals commence at 11am. Cold lunches can be ordered and the bar will be open all day. The Final Matches will start at 2.30 pm approximately.
