Paul Eales came ninth in a time of 2:15:55. His club was Windsor, Slough, Eton (and Hounslow). An elite runner, he wore all light grey with bib number 0285. He was mentioned several times by the commentator. The day of the marathon, 29 March 1981 was a rainy day (and Mother’s Day) and 6,255 runners finished, (out of a possible 6,747). The joint winners were Dick Beardsley and Inge Simonsen in 2:11:48.

Current Hours

There are three bowls sessions every weekday – starting at 2.00pm, 4.00pm and  6.00pm. On Wednesday and Thursday there are sessions starting at 11.00 am. Members can pre-book a rink online.

We are open Saturday & Sunday for Club Matches and Events.
