REDHILL BOWLING CLUB – YOUR HELP IS REQUESTED

20/01/2023

TEXT OF E-MAIL SENT TODAY

To RBC Members (by BCC)

On behalf of the Club Committee and Directors I am seeking your help to boost the Green Team numbers.

The Green Team carries out essential work on the green – our principal asset – and also on the surrounding verges, gardens, car park, hedges & trees and behind the Clubhouse plus general maintenance of tools/equipment.

The Team has been in situ for several years now, is ageing and needs some new, younger persons to join, learn and ensure the longevity of the Team.

The Team uses a variety of motor (petrol) driven machines, power tools (electric and petrol) and hand tools. Training on the equipment will be given before use by new Team members.

Many members when they joined volunteered to do gardening. We would like to encourage those members who did plus any other fit men or ladies to now join the Green Team to assist them in their routine tasks. Everyone who volunteers will be found a job which suits their capabilities.

Paul Mahoney will be joining the Team in late February which is an excellent start to this appeal.

The Green Team meets every Tuesday and Friday morning, weather permitting, from the Spring until the Autumn. Winter activity is sometimes reduced to one of these mornings.

If you are interested and can help on one or both days, then just come along on a Tuesday or Friday from 9.30 am onwards and have a chat with the Team. Alternatively, you can call Ken Jupp on 01293 772867.

Regards

John Davison
