Well done to Wendy Wren for organising this and keeping Roy involved in the Friday evening activities.
List is up in the club house for names for members who wish to play short mat league on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, please add your name to the list or contact Steve before Captains Day Sunday 23rd Sept. As teams will be drawn on that day.
So far we do not have many names.
Due to the rearranged NDL match away at Old Coulsdon on 12th Sept the Wednesday Pairs for that day has been rescheduled for THURSDAY 13th SEPT. Please pass the word to your team.
Details for this weekend’s matches.
Finals weekend is fast approaching so we need the trophies back soon.
On Saturday afternoon Paul Eales and Bryan Gaunt play Iver Heath BC in the final of the London & Southern Counties Pairs at Bounds Green BC (Postcode N11 2BS). A fantastic achievement to reach the final having beaten Tonbridge, Southey, Belmont and Eltham on the way – the last 3 matches were all away. Good luck for the match on Saturday.
On Saturday morning at RBC we see the first final of this season. In the Drawn Triples Roland Simon, Sylvia Collingwood & Ames Brisley face Rob Hobart, Anne Currie & Roy Wilkins. Have a great game!
MESSAGE FROM BRYAN GAUNT
As you know a considerable amount of effort has gone in to keeping harmony with the allotment holders regarding the gate access.
It appears that both side are not entirely adhering to the agreed process.
It is quite clear and the process has been communicated regularly.
Please would you take every opportunity to remind members that on non club days or special event days upon entering and leaving the club the gate MUST BE closed. The last member leaving the club needs to lock the gate.
Well done to Steve Whiting and Jon Wilson representing Chipstead winning the Borough Pairs again this year in their final against David Rigg and Jim Cunningham of Redhill. Many thanks to all the teams that entered, the RBC volunteers on the day and Ames Brisley for the event organisation and Lyn Davison for organising the catering. Also many thanks to Beadles Kia for sponsoring the event.
Today’s match has been postponed by Old Coulsdon due to water lying on the green. New date Wednesday 12th September.
The preliminary rounds are now complete and the line up for the semi-finals is now known.
We much appreciate the continued support of this event by Beadles KIA Coulsdon. They have kindly donated our top raffle prize – a car “LifeShine” Autoglym treatment including a full valet.
Spectators are very welcome.
